Advertisers: Rules

We give advertisers a lot of functionality to run creative campaigns. However there are rules (subject to change at any time) about how this functionality may be used. Violation of any of the below could subject to cancellation of your campaign, the banning of your account, and/or legal action.

  1. Ads may NOT contain the name or picture of the viewer. This sort of shock-and-awe advertising is generally prohibited. Instead you may use information that you have acquired yourself and that can be tastefully integrated into the messaging of the ad.
  2. When personalizing ads you may not embed information that is obtained from third parties w/o the right for redistribution. This includes profile information which cannot be cached for more than 24 hours.
  3. Ads may NOT contain any information pertaining to another user, regardless of whether they are friends, unless the person whose information is being displayed has opted into the ad using the mechanisms that we supply (shows preview of the ad).
  4. You must observe the content guidelines of the social platform that you are targeting. Facebook
  5. You must observe state and federal laws governing advertising and privacy.
