Unique Capabilities
Our ad delivery network can track individual users across multiple applications within
a social network. This creates new opportunities:
- Personalization - Since we are capable of routing a single ad to a single person, we let
you customize each ad with information that is relevant and interesting to the user who will see the ad.
- Social Graph Awareness - Credibility can be conveyed when an ad is related back to some
action taken by a friend (an endorsement). Whereas the ill-fated "Beacon" program originally broadcasted
personal information
automatically unless the user opted out, we show users exactly how their information will
be used and request users to opt in each time. See Example.
- Effective CPM Arbitrage - Why is it that one app can monetize its traffic at above-average CPMs
while many others generate far less? It comes down to a combination of the right users,
the right information, and the right app experience. We let you reach the other 99%
of the right users at low CPM cost and let you monetize them at your higher CPM rates using our
App Re-Engagement and
Offsite, App-Specific promotions.
- More Control for Viewers - We want to enable advertising that viewers enjoy receiving.
As a result every ad has a feedback link with which the user can opt out of all future
user-targeted advertising
from a given advertiser, as well as provide feedback. Please read our
Overview of Viewer Privacy for more information.
Auction-Based Pricing
Every user essentially has a "personal cpm" that results from the supply of impressions
versus the demand from advertisers for that user.
We ask you to specify a maximum CPM or eCPC that you are willing to pay to reach your
audience. Regardless of what you bid, we will always get the lowest price available
on our network for each user. You will see the the average price that you pay is much
less than your stated maximum.
Pay CPM but with a CPC Constraint
Identified Hits pays and bills based on CPM. Since most
advertisers prefer to pay CPC, there is the option to enforce an eCPC constraint.
Once we have enough data to calculate an accurate CTR of your ad, we can disable the campaign if the
eCPC price climbs above your maximum. We track this rate separately for each
time the ad is shown again to the same user. For example if the eCPC is low for viewers seeing
your ad the first time but high for ads seen the tenth time by the same viewer, we
will be sure not to waste your money by showing it a tenth time to anyone.
Fraud Prevention
The integrity of our delivery network is a primary concern. We monitor every impression.
In the event that we determine that fraudulent activity has occurred, we have the ability to
refund the affected transactions.
