Overview of Viewer Privacy
Our ads are designed for the enjoyment of the viewer. Social platforms provide us with
the data to generate these ads on-demand without having to build up a profile of the viewer.
As a result, and perhaps surprisingly, we maintain no permanant record of what you
have disclosed on social networks or in third-party applications-- we only have
transient knowledge of these things. We function a lot like the postal service: we carry messages
and inspect them only to the extent that we need for proper delivery to you; once delivered
no copy remains at the post office. Likewise as an ad delivery network, all third-party
data is removed when the ad campaign completes or sooner. We do maintain a permenant record
of which ads you have seen for the sake of resolving billing conflicts that arise among
publishers and advertisers, but we do not otherwise utilize this data. If you interact with an
ad, that interaction may be logged by us or the responsible advertiser and may be associated with
your user id.
Beyond avoiding the undesirable, we strive to let viewers express their privacy preferences.
Below are some of our efforts in that pursuit.
-
Every ad contains a feedback link that can be used to inquire to Identified Hits and/or
the responsible advertiser about advertising practices contained within the the ad.
-
In cases where the ad was personalized for the viewer, the feedback page contains a link
to block the ad from being shown again and a link to block all
advertisements from that advertiser in the future.

-
Ads that include information relating to you should never be seen by anyone other than you
unless you explicitly opted into the sharing of that information with your friends.

-
When you give permission for an ad containing your picture and name to be shown to your friends,
your picture and name are not stored on our servers. It is fetched in real-time when the ad is shown.
If you change your picture, the new picture will be presented the next time the ad is viewed.
-
We provide a Privacy Policy that describes
how we handle the data that is available to us. We also support the
Platform for Privacy (P3P)
protocol so that
your web browser can automatically warn you if the privacy preferences that you have
stated are in conflict with our practices.
-
Our advertising partners agree to uphold our
Terms of Service which requires that
they follow the responsible practices that we put forth.
-
Our partners are also accountable to the social platforms to which they belong.
One important rule is that information that you make available in
your profile cannot exist anywhere outside of the social platform for more than
24 hours. Check out Facebook's
Developer Terms of Service
or
Platform Application Guidelines
for more information.
